Recording Requirements

Consistent lighting with no harsh shadows on the face
Neutral background (solid color or clean office setting)
Professional attire consistent with your brand
Record in 1080p at 30fps minimum
Speak naturally, varying expressions and gestures
Record the consent statement clearly at the beginning

Consent and Verification

Mandatory Step: Synthesia requires identity verification for every custom avatar. The person in the video must record a consent statement on camera. Synthesia's trust and safety team reviews every submission. This process takes 1-3 business days.

Voice Cloning

Pair your custom avatar with a cloned voice for maximum authenticity. Provide clean audio samples (minimum 30 seconds, ideally 5+ minutes) of the person speaking naturally. The cloned voice supports the same 130+ language library for multilingual content.
