Prezi Video

Present with your face overlaid on your content, set up virtual cameras, record presentations, live stream to meetings, and create shareable GIF content.

What is Prezi Video?

Prezi Video lets you appear on screen alongside your presentation content. Instead of sharing your screen and disappearing behind slides, your audience sees you and your content together - creating a more personal, engaging experience for virtual meetings, recordings, and live streams.

💡
Why it matters: Research shows that presentations with a visible speaker are more engaging and memorable. Prezi Video combines the best of screen sharing and video conferencing - your audience sees your expressions, gestures, and body language alongside your visual content.

Virtual Camera Setup

Prezi Video works as a virtual camera that you can use in any video conferencing app:

  1. Install Prezi Video: Download the desktop app from prezi.com/video (available for Windows and macOS)
  2. Open your presentation: Select an existing Prezi or create a new one optimized for video
  3. Enable the virtual camera: Click Connect to activate the Prezi virtual camera
  4. Select in your app: In Zoom, Teams, Meet, or any other video app, choose "Prezi Camera" as your camera source
  5. Present: Your face appears with your content overlaid beside, behind, or around you

Content Layout Options

👤

Side-by-Side

Your video feed on one side, presentation content on the other. Ideal for detailed content where the audience needs to read text or examine charts.

🖼

Full Overlay

Content appears around and behind you, with you at the center. Perfect for storytelling and keeping eye contact with your audience.

🎥

Picture-in-Picture

Your video in a small window over the full-screen content. Best when the content needs maximum screen real estate.

📷

Camera Only

Show just your face without any content overlay. Switch to this mode when answering questions or having a discussion.

Recording Presentations

Record polished video presentations for async communication:

  1. Open your presentation in Prezi Video
  2. Click the Record button
  3. Choose your layout (side-by-side, overlay, etc.)
  4. Present as you normally would - advance through topics with arrow keys or clicking
  5. Click Stop when finished

  • Training: Step-by-step layouts with room for demonstrations
  • Status update: Clean layouts for metrics, timelines, and key updates
  • Introduction: Personal branding templates for video introductions

Background Customization

Control what appears behind you in the video feed:

  • Virtual backgrounds: Replace your real background with images or solid colors
  • Blur: Blur your real background for privacy while keeping you in focus
  • Brand backgrounds: Use company logos or branded imagery as your background
  • Transparent: Remove your background entirely so only you and the content appear

GIF Creation

Create short, shareable GIFs from your Prezi Video for social media and messaging:

  1. Record a short segment (5-15 seconds works best)
  2. Use the Create GIF option in the export menu
  3. Select the portion of the recording to convert
  4. Choose quality and size settings
  5. Download the GIF or share directly

Screen Recording with Overlay

Combine screen recording with your Prezi Video overlay for tutorials and demos:

  • Record your screen while your face appears in a corner with Prezi content
  • Ideal for software demos, code walkthroughs, and how-to videos
  • Switch between screen recording and full Prezi presentation mode seamlessly
  • Add annotations and highlights during recording
Pro tip: Design your Prezi Video content with less text and more visuals than a standard presentation. Since you're explaining verbally while the content is visible, you don't need full sentences on screen. Use keywords, icons, and images instead.

💡 Try It: Record a Video Presentation

Create a short (3-5 topic) presentation, open it in Prezi Video, and record a 2-minute presentation with your face overlaid. Try different layout options and see which feels most natural. Share the recording link with a colleague for feedback.

Presenting with Prezi Video takes some practice. Focus on looking at the camera (not the screen) and keeping your gestures natural. The audience experience is much more engaging than traditional screen sharing!
